GPP: Jared Goff at New Orleans
This Rams at Saints game is the better fantasy contest this weekend as it currently boasts a 57-point Over/Under. Meanwhile, Patriots at Chiefs is reportedly going to be an “Arctic Blast” as temperatures are going to plummet. Jared Goff is on the map because he gets to play in this valuable game and will be in the dome. Plus, expect his ownership percentage to register extremely low for a two-game slate thanks to the Rams recent rushing success. However, the Rams are road underdogs this week against a Saints defense that finished the regular season ranked second in rushing yards allowed per game and third in Run DVOA. I wouldn’t expect that elite rushing success to carry over to this weekend. Instead, one way or another Goff is likely going to attack a New Orleans secondary that only ranked 29th in passing yards allowed per game and 22nd in Pass DVOA. That’s intriguing from a GPP standpoint for Goff, who finished the regular season ranked fifth in passing yards per game and tied for sixth in TD passes as well as led a Rams team that finished the regular season ranked second in yards per game and second in points per game.
