On track to play
Mathieu (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, with Chiefs coach Andy Reid saying Friday that he expects the defensive back to play, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star suggests Mathieu is on track to clear the NFL's concussion protocol Saturday, at which points the Chiefs could also choose to remove him from the final injury report (or not). Mathieu suffered the injury on his seventh snap in last week's win over the Bills, leaving Daniel Sorensen in an every-down role for the remainder of the contest. Sorensen doesn't lack for experience, but the Chiefs should be especially glad to get Mathieu back in the lineup after last week's late-game defensive collapse against the Bills.
