May compete for No. 1 job

Haskins believes he'll have a chance to compete for Pittsburgh's starting quarterback job in 2022, Brooke Pryor of reports.

With Ben Roethlisberger set to retire and Joshua Dobbs (toe) scheduled for free agency, Haskins and Mason Rudolph are the only two quarterbacks under contract with Pittsburgh for 2022. The team will likely explore out-of-house options, of course, but there is a scenario where Haskins and Rudolph end up competing for the No. 1 job. Haskins didn't play at all in 2021, but the Steelers reportedly were pleased with his work on the practice field.
