In line to practice Thursday
Coach Pete Carroll expects Collins (hip/glute) to practice Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. "He's going to practice today, so that's a good sign," Carroll said. "He went through walkthrough today and looked OK."
After posting 98 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown this past Sunday at Pittsburgh in his second consecutive spot start for Chris Carson (neck), Collins came out of the 23-20 loss with hip and glute injuries. Still, Carroll noted at the time that Collins has a chance to not miss any time, and he'd do just that by beginning Week 7 prep with at least a limited showing on the practice field. Elsewhere in the backfield, the Seahawks are slated to have Rashaad Penny (calf) return to practice Thursday, which would open a 21-day window for the team to activate him from IR. As for the healthy bodies, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer could be Seattle's RBs on Monday against the Saints if Collins and Penny are unable to make the requisite progress in their recoveries.
