More tests on tap
Giants head coach Joe Judge said Toney aggravated his existing ankle injury in Sunday's 38-11 loss to the Rams and will undergo further testing Monday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
Despite being limited in practice all of last week with the injury and taking a questionable designation into Sunday, Toney suited up against the Rams and was on his way to a productive day with three catches for 36 yards before being ruled out shortly after tweaking the ankle following his sixth snap of the contest. Toney's upcoming tests should shed more light on the extent of his injury, but even if he gets good news, it wouldn't be surprising if the Giants took a conservative approach with working him back into the mix. New York is set to host the Panthers in Week 7.
