Getting surgery Wednesday
Smith-Schuster will undergo season-ending surgery Wednesday for the right shoulder injury he sustained in Sunday's win over Denver, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Coach Mike Tomlin indicated that Smith-Schuster will be placed on injured reserve, though that transaction may not become official until later in the week. With the wideout done for the season, James Washington (groin) -- who sat out against Denver but is expected to return to practice this week -- is expected to step into a regular role in three-receiver sets alongside Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool.
