Nursing pectoral injury

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Roethlisberger is tending to a left pectoral injury that will affect the quarterback's preparation for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network reports. "We'd better be ready to be adjustable," Tomlin said of Roethlisberger's injury situation.

Roethlisberger presumably sustained the injury during one of the 10 hits -- including two sacks -- he took in the Steelers' Week 2 home loss to the Raiders. Based on how Tomlin talked about Roethlisberger's injury, the Steelers still anticipate that the veteran quarterback will be ready to play Sunday, though his practice reps will likely be affected while he manages the sore pec. Through Pittsburgh's first two games, Roethlisberger has completed 62.5 percent of his throws for 6.7 yards per attempt and a 2:1 TD:INT.
